Our Quality Assurance and Consumer Protection
Here at the CrashAssessorsUK Group, we’re very proud of our professional memberships and accreditations. This is partly because we wholeheartedly believe in providing an outstanding service. And it’s also partly because we know how hard it is and how confusing it can be when you’ve been involved in an accident. You have a short amount of time to choose a motor engineer, garage or crash assessor to help. Knowing that an organisation has met or surpassed a recognised industry standard makes this choice easier as well providing all important peace of mind and some important consumer rights.
BS 10125 Standard for Vehicle Damage Repair
That’s why we’re delighted to share that our Silvester Crash Repair Unit are working towards the BS10125 standard. This is the British Standards Institution (BSI) national standard for vehicle body repairs and has the backing of trading standards and UKAS. It sets out the processes and procedures for the safe repair of accident damaged vehicles and provides minimum requirements for four key elements of repair: methods, people, equipment and materials. It also emphasises the need for continual improvement.
In other words, although this standard is about ensuring high standards of repair, it’s also about other aspects including customer safety, efficient management systems, levels of service, etc.
What does that mean for vehicle owners?
Well, firstly, it gives vehicle owners confidence that all our repairers and our inspectors have both the technical competence and procedures in place to only operate to the highest standards.
In turn it also means that it pushes up standards, resulting in best service and better standards of repairs, which in turn means lower operating costs, better insurance costs and less need for re-repairs. It’s a win, win all round.
We’re already NBRA approved
This means we already operate in line with a strict code of conduct which ensures we work to the highest possible standards and treat you and your vehicle with respect.
The NBRA is a leading Motor Trade Association for businesses in the Automotive Aftermarket namely businesses that may repair, service and maintain vehicles of all descriptions. It sets and monitors its members' operating standards. The principle aim of the code of conduct is to encourage ethical business behaviour and to uphold and maintain the best interests of the general motoring public. The code of conduct covers all aspect of operations from estimates, quotes, invoicing and payments, to parts, materials and workmanship, and delivery times, warranties and cancellations.
It also provides you with consumer protection should you have any issues with access to the National Conciliation Service (the NBRA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution service) and this service is designed to be easy to use, accessible and free of charge.
Let CrashAssessorUK help
We know that being involved in any kind of collision is a thoroughly unpleasant and difficult experience, but at CrashAssessorUK we work hard to make things easier: from providing informed advice about whether in the circumstances you should claim on your insurance or protect your no claims bonus, to talking to the insurers. We can also take appropriate photos of the vehicles, provide estimates and compile fully costed estimates.
Perhaps more urgently, we can organise collection and secure storage of your vehicle at your chosen repairer and provide you with regular updates. If it was a non-fault claim, we’ll also get you back on the road with a like for like vehicle.
Better still, we do all this in line with the standards and expectations of our accredited bodies and are always mindful of the need to continue to improve. We hope that knowing we’ve met or surpassed the best industry standards, brings you the peace of mind and reassurance, in knowing that by choosing us, you’ve made the right choice.
